Who made this?

Post by Dan Hatch » Fri Apr 05, 2024 8:33 am

Does anyone know who made this? Is it still available?
Came off a speedster friend has. Don’t know history, hope someone here can tell me more. It bolts to what looks to be Model A transmission so it can bolt on to a T engine.
Replaces the Ball Cap, AKA 4th main.
Thinking about making them if no one else is still doing it.
Post here of email me at address in pictures. Thanks Dan

That appears to be something to replace the input shaft on the front end of a A trans which would let it bolt to the back of a T trans. Not sure what would go from there other than if you wanted an aux three speed.

Thanks, but I know what it is.
Looking for who made it and is he still making them. Or was it a one of a kind? Dan

Go on Youtube and search for "Merlin's Old School Garage", he just finished making a plate to adapt a Model A Ford Transmission to the back of a Model T transmission. :)

Thanks for the post, but I’m interested in who made this one. Is it one of a kind or were they produced in mass? And by who ?
Do know the speedster this was in came out of Texas. I think around Houston. Dan

Hi Dan,
This will be of little help but if I remember correctly I have seen one in a 26/7 roadster that I looked at that had a A rear end, juice brakes
& 19" A wheels, with fiberglass fenders as well as the A trans. I did not realize that it also replaced the 4th main as well. Good idea all the
add on A trans setups I have found available are aluminum & require the 4th main. But it seems to me that is not the only one but no idea
who made it.
Craig.
