Model T Carpet on ebay

Post by colonelpowers » Wed Apr 10, 2024 3:12 pm

I just came across this carpet on ebay and wondered if anyone has ever ordered one to see if it is any good. It is $22.80 plus shipping so it certainly is cheap enough if it is any good.

I don't believe that would be enough carpet for a CenterDoor sedan... Maybe for a 26-27 Tudor or Fordor with a Ruxtell and a modified mixture/choke rod going through the upper right floor.

Given the spacing for the pedals ... 1926-27? Hard to tell for sure

Just curious if the seller. Do you mind sharing the link? My carpets are perfect and just want to keep the seller handy in case I get another T! (Don't tell my wife! Lol)

I don't know how to share a link but if you search "model t" carpet it is the first listing. The ad says in the heading "JVL Tailored Carpet Car Mat compatible with Ford Model T 1908-1927" The company is in England and the seller is "JVL Homeware Solutions." I don't need one but I am tempted to order one for curiosity's sake. It may be garbage but maybe not.

Here’s the Item Number 155984612480

So use it to search eBay

Here is the page, little description other than friction backing, no size given.

Low price but shipping from UK is more than the item price.

Might be better to get outdoor carpet from home box stores and cut, trim to fit. Doubt this low price item has hemmed edges anyway.

To me it doesn't look all that exciting because of all the extra holes. Most cars don't have the speedometer cable, and unless you have a Ruckstell, then you have another hole in the middle of your carpet. If you have a steel firewall, then you would need to trim it for the indent too. I also have never seen a Model T with a steering column pass through the floor.

This looks to me like another product sold online, trying to say it fits a Model T. I think if you are looking for a cheap solution, you would be better off buying carpet and cutting it yourself, otherwise go the the vendors and get something that is already close to what you need.

Another T product that’s being offered online as a “fits all”. Sold as a 1908-27. It doesn’t fit all and manufactured by folks who don’t have correct information about Model T’s. Definitely not made by knowledgeable people. Same type of thinking that all Model T’s were black.
