Period correct shocks
What rear period correct shocks will work with AC brakes?
As Tom Sellick told Marston in the movie Quigley Down Under, I told you I dont have much use for handguns, I never said I didn't know how to use them!

Don't have your answer, but I know that there are some prone to breakage that should be avoided.

Re: Period correct shocks
The issue with almost all aftermarket rear shocks have with accessory brakes (AC, RM etc) is that their perch doesn't clear the additional thickness of the drum. Snubbers are a possibility as are friction shocks OR have a rear perch made to clear.
I was fortunate to have some made for Hassler shocks as my project unfolded I wasn't sure if I was going to use them. Someone was looking for them and the "professional" maker wasn't ready to make another set, so I sold mine
but the idea should work for others

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Re: Period correct shocks
Have seen Hassler Pan Cake rear shocks clear a set of small drum outside brake, as there is some space above the brake drum.
Would think AC brakes over the factory small drums would be ok with Hassler Shocks.

1924 and later 'Pan Cake' Hassler

Hi Will,
Speedway Motors sells a single arm Truffault-Hartford style friction shock # 5606021 & some Model A style dog bone connectors & balls.
They can be attached to the rear crossmember & either to the shackle or axle putting them out of the way. Examples of these can be
scene on some speedsters on line. See NWVS thumb nail gallery pics. I have seen these on several touring cars also.
Craig.

Re: Period correct shocks
I don't know much about them, but was given these Hartford branded units, and assume they fit a T?
What I thought looked promising was that they don't sit over top of the drum like the Hasslers do in the top of the picture (or as per Dan's pictures) which I always thought would interfere with the AC bands.-
