Hardware and Auto parts store front.

Post by John kuehn » Mon May 13, 2024 6:28 pm

A Waco, Tx hardware store that advertised Ford, Chevrolet parts and other makes that’s on the bldg signage. This must have been in the 20’s. I can’t see a Ford on the signage. There are several 20’s era cars and looks like a T touring. I would imagine there were other hardware stores starting up that sold several brands of parts. I’m wondering if Sears , Montgomery Wards and WesternAuto added other lines of auto parts besides Ford. Ford was probably the biggest line.

Western Auto carried parts for many popular cars, but Ford parts probably were the best sellers due to the sheer numbers of Fords on the road.

It looks the same company changed it signage along the way. Maybe as autos became more popular they added auto makes to attract more business.
