Sparking a conversation ?

Post by Rich P. Bingham » Wed May 29, 2024 6:40 pm

Discussing with friends what goes on inside a timer, I wonder if any of our members run an accessory “Crystal Timer”, and if they could possibly post a video of it in operation ?
Should be very interesting !

I have never looked at one closely, or actually seen one on a car myself. However, one of my best friends did run one for awhile quite a few years ago. He said they were fun to watch!

Since the timer acts to ground the relatively low voltage (and complete the circuit) going to the coils, I would suspect you'd get a spark but nothing like what's going to the spark plugs.

I just installed one on a timer elevator, but I haven’t a way to post a video? I’ll see if I can get you an “action shot”

Maybe that Dropbox platform you see every now and then here on the forum. Or a YouTube video link...
