New London to New Brighton antique car run
A big congratulations to Kathy and Dave Tagert for successfully completing the 125 mile run on Saturday in their 1906 N. This was their first attempt at this long endurance run and in spite of having to do a few tweaks to the car, they made it to all five rest stops and the finish line. Great job by both

Thank Jerry, and congrats to the Tagerts!! I'm sure their stomachs were all tied in knots until that finish line was in sight. Now the rest will get much easier, I'm sure.
Also, I noticed in the pictures posted elsewhere that it appeared there were quite a few Ladies driving this year.

Another truly amazing car and driver was Herb de la Port in a 1901 Locomobile steam car. The car required fuel and water every 20 miles, and traveled at 12 MPH. He was allowed to start early and finished the 120 miles at 6:15. Every time I passed him he had a smile on his face.

I had the chance to meet Herb Sunday morning as he was nice enough to haul a 13T engine to Ohio for the buyer. We have a great group of people in the old car business!
