It's September 6. Guess we'll get it rolling.
We had a terrible Spring.  We had to ask a tenant to leave who had issues paying their rent and when they left, their unit was trashed.  It took us close to 4 months to make it rentable again.  This made it so our first ride of the Summer took place today, Sept. 6.  After some gussying up, it was a beautiful ride down to Langley, WA from Freeland, WA along the western shore of Holmes Harbor and Saratoga Passage.  The accompanying video shows us knuckleheads riding as my wife figures out how to turn a selfie stick into an effective camera boom.

Hey That was so cool seeing a couple of old guys with nice gals riding in the back of a T but I was just wondering as I watched if you were keeping it on the road and was there anything to see!! She did a great job and get her a swivel for that stick so we can see in your ear.

That rattling is coming from the top of the windshield. Sounds like something inside the frame tubing. Does anyone out there have any idea what may be causing this? The glass is firmly secured in the frame.

Nice looking car. Are you just touring Whidby Island or did you relocate? I sold all my rentals a few years ago. I love not being a landlord anymore!

Finished up the last of the body build on the " '12" open express project. Cut boards for the floor board risers, and then cut the veneer plywood boards to floor board shapes.

Bit of cutting to make the pedal slots, added the pedal trim plates, and mounted a pair of original brass step plates for bling

Just added the horn this morning, and will fit the tubing and bulb to run to the seat for easy reach.

Last item is to trim the new rubber floor mat.....having fun

Worked on installing the hood former and getting everything aligned. New firewall so I have to drill the screw holes, so naturally I wanted them in the right location. Turns out the whole process was trickier than I would have thought, as many things are.

I purchased my 1926 Touring from the previous owner's widow in 1999. It was restored by him in approximately 1977.
Since I purchased the car, I've done several things to it, like installing a better radiator, new floor boards, a spot light/mirror, and most recently, a Ruckstell rear axle.
I'm ashamed to admit that it took me three years to complete the job. This is due to not wanting to cut a hole in the original front floor board. I purchased a partial new set from Jon Anderson in New York. This allowed me to finish the job by installing the shifter.
So, today for the first time, after owning the car for the last 24 years, I drove my car to the top of the legendary Shell Hill in preparation for next Saturday's commerative Signal Hill Climb.
The car I own won 1st place in its class at the last Hill Climb in 1979. It was a thrill to say the least.
This event is being sponsored by the City of Signal Hill in recognition of the city's 100th anniversary.
This should be big. Several people from years ago have expressed interest in the event and are going to be there. I'm looking forward to it. See you there.

Well my bodge job of a car is slowly getting better, took boy for a trip and got to just under 50 which is now not feeling so scary.
Bought an ECCT which will hopefully arrive in a couple of weeks as I am struggling to resolve a slight roughness and lack of power. Also ordered a new new day timer and fitted NOS A25 plugs.
I have also finished my modified handbrake and steam bent some oak planking.

I rebuilt my starter switch bending the copper bar. It has about a 3” vertical spring loaded button to poke through the fairly thick wood floor in my ‘19 centerdoor. Also serviced the T in preparation for filming ‘1923’ in San Antonio next week.

I installed a pair of Van Briggle front shock absorbers. They do seem to help soften the ride in normal driving conditions.

I rebuilt this H1 that came in with a later model Holley G throttle arm which looked out of place. I located an early Holley G throttle arm, made a new throttle shaft and a couple filister head screws and it looks almost the same as the H1 arm. Had to make a new spray needle as well.

Getting my 26 Touring ready to the monthly trip to the local historical museum next Saturday. It's been almost 30 years since I installed the tires when I restored the car. I have been on many tours and parades since that time. I noticed the rear tires were getting worn down. Not ready to replace but the front ones had a lot more tread. The spare had never been on the ground and still had the bead on it. Anyway I rotated all the wheels and put the best tread on the rear and the most worn on the spare. All 5 wheels
were cleaned inside and outside around the spokes. They sure seem a lot heavier now than they did then. I know my legs are getting weak but surprisingly my arms are too. So I was able to sit on a chair while I lifted the wheels onto the hubs and tightened them up. The spare was hardest because I had to lift it over the bumper and it slants in such a way that the top is farther back than the bottom. So I finally get Dolores to help me. I held the wheel in place and she started the nuts on. What I thought would be done before lunch took till 4:00 and I got some cuts and bruises too. It sure is fun to get old!

Took my 22 touring to our airshow where I work and had it on display last Saturday. Everyone was fascinated by my tan fanbelt. Then, I took it my coworker's wedding reception that evening. I got talking to a younger man who drives a Model A, and didnt leave until dark. Luckily I didnt have too far to go, only about 3 miles for the night. My Led lights do need adjustments though...

And now, im working on my new turn signals!

Our club did a three day tour from Red Lodge MT over to Belfry MT and on to Cody WY. We spent a day touring the Buffalo Bill Museum. The last day we went up the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway and over the Beartooth Pass back to Red Lodge. Fantastic country to cruise in a Model T. All the cars did well even over the 10,900 foot Beartooth Pass.

I participated along with 56 other drivers and cars of the 20s in the ‘1923’ movie shoot in San Antonio last Monday with my ‘19 centerdoor. But I don’t think I can post any pictures until the movie comes out.

What have I done with my T? I dragged a TT home, to keep company with the 26 wagon, 27 Fordor, 30 Fordor, and 30 Tudor. This 23 TT was restored in Bob Scherzer's auto shop class in high school when I was a student. We used it for his funeral hearse in 2021. Bob did things the right way! It has the high speed rear axle ratio, and Jumbo Giant auxiliary transmission. It's the best running T in our fleet.

After the Ohio Jamboree, I figured I'd take a little time dealing with some rust on the windshield frame of my 25 Touring. Once the stanchions and dash panel were off, I realized this was going to be a much bigger project. I found a fair amount of dry rot in the top rail between the first two pillars on each side. The further I looked, the worse it got. The dry rot was pretty bad in both the main sills. So a simple week long project has turned into a full re-wooding project. Oh well, I'd planned on painting the car in the next couple years anyway. I guess that just got moved up too.

I drove our 11 touring to the "Andover Days" car show. This was the second year in a row that I brought it there, and it proved once again what most T owners already know, that kids LOVE Model T's. This year I even won the kids choice award.

I was parked between two 68 Camaros. The yellow one in the second picture was a "barn find" 68 RS/SS with 20k miles on it. 19k were put on by the original owner who died young. Parents put it in storage for decades until it was sold to someone, who sold it to the current owner. About the only work he did to it was give it a good cleaning. The paint was faded a bit, but the interior was amazing. Worth lots of $$ as it is. Other than getting in an accident with it, the only way to reduce its value would be to restore it!

And we drove our '11 to the Meerkerk Gardens Fundraiser at the Dancing Fish Winery. They "made us" leave the parking lot and park on the grass right next to the festivities which ended up being right next to the bar . And yes, the kids all LOVED the T, even though they were all over 21. Even had to fire up the gas lights to get home. That was a real treat for the "kids".

I drove "Betsy", my 1924 cut-off touring, to a local show in Hillsboro, MO last Saturday. Ended up winning the "people's choice" award and $100.00!
