Here's hoping that mother nature keeps the fires away from the populated area.

Fire was very close. Evacuations came within a few blocks of us. CAL Fire did and excellent job and now all is well. Thank you for your concern. :)

Glad you are OK Mark. Fires can be very scarey - about 10 years ago my cousin Jim came very close to losing his house in Oakland. The firefighters stopped the fire in his backyard. There was some damage to the siding on his house, and his extensive wine cellar got hot enough that the insurance company paid him several thousand dollars due to the cellar getting way too hot. He has a temperature recording device for it.

I'm so glad you are OK. In 2003 my son and I had cleared a space about 100' from our house. We had to evacuate for 3 days. We left when we saw the flames coming over a mountain about a mile away. We couldn't go toward San Diego because the fire had crossed the highway, so we went east about 25 miles to an evacuation center. When we got home we found the fire had come right to the boundary where we had cleared. We even had Model T's we had left in the garage. They were still there. Only problem was the electricity was off for the rest of the week.

So glad to hear that you are okay Mark! Fires can be so unpredictable and move so fast that you don't have much time to respond when it looks like it was moving the other way...

Wow. What an awful feeling, of being surrounded by fire. Glad you are Okay!
Glad I'm in the midwest, all we have are storms!
