Today I made a stand.
I have orders from my better half for a particular project. It needs a head high stand, so down to the T scap pile I went.
Just two components and I was done. That's a non starter flywheel for the base and a late driveshaft housing for the column. Two magnet retaining bolts were used to bolt the two pieces together. The flange is a perfect fit in the flywheel recess and the two bolts simply go through the dowel pin holes. Allan from down under.

Add a light switch assembly and bulb. Throw a lamp shade on it and put it in your living room!

No matter how proud of it I might be, my wife wouldn’t allow “that Rusty thing” in the house.

I'd make a hat rack out of that! Put 4 claw feet on it and add some antlers at the top to hang hats or coats on, and put an LED light in the u-joint bell... or maybe a small garden gnome(?)
