Ford script head gasket

Post by 1925 Touring » Tue Sep 24, 2024 10:32 pm

When I had to take my head off, I found that I had a head gasket with ford script on it. Is this something that is pretty common, or could this possibly be an original head gasket? Either way, im going to save it!

Me? I would display it on a wall. But I have a few times been accused of being a hoarder.

One would think it would be common, Ford still making engines until 1941 and would surely be making parts well after, especially gaskets.

LOL....by your wife???

I've learned that if it's in the house, my wife says it's a "collection"....
If it's in my shop, I'm a "hoarder"
Call me anything you want...just so long as it isn't "late for dinner"

Kurt A, Me LOL also. Can't go there.
My dad was a true hoarder. So I in turn do have those tendencies. While I do keep stuff a bit too much? Not nearly to the extent my dad did his whole life. I actually have cars I can roll in and out of my garage, shop, and mini barn, on a minute's notice.

I have a Ford script head gasket also. Back in the 1980's an elderly car collector friend of mine was downsizing and he gave me several used T head gaskets. After seeing this thread, I went to check these old gaskets and sure enough, one of them is Ford script. I have a small collection of somewhat rare and / or unusual Ford script items and will add this one to it.
Am I a hoarder? It depends who you ask..... :)
