I'm sure it doesn't look like much, but it is helping me complete a set. The manufacturer only made this version of the tool for a year or two before coming out with what I am sure was a more cost conscious design. If anyone would like to venture a guess I will post a little later with what it is, I am sure that someone knows. For reference, it will fit in the palm of your hand.

Ebay was kind to me last week.

Most everyone has seen the Cantrell-Miller bearing sleeve puller (shown on the right), this is tool #5 Liner Clamp for compressing the bearing sleeve for installation. It is made from cast bronze and has well machined interior surface where it compresses then bearing sleeve. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but I am sure that it should work as well as an aviation clamp. The ad shown above is from 1920 and by 1924 the tool was changed over to the one shown in the ad below (bottom left).

I have everything now but the wheel puller and the bearing puller. I have actually seen one of the bearing pullers and it does not seem to do much at all, probably why it did not show up in the later ads. If anyone has one of the Cantrell-Miller Wheel Pullers, I would love to see some photos of it.
Dan, absolutely correct. They were made in 2 sizes (T and TT) and I was lucky enough for this to be T.

An older photo, but I had a need to use the dust cap puller just a few weeks ago. It sure makes stubborn caps come off easy.

The wheel puller in this set was used a lot. It’s probably the hardest to find I think because of its popularity. These and other Ford specific tools were sold off at auctions and weren’t important enough to save in the late 40’s and onward. It’s lucky some have survived.
I can remember going to old dealership auctions with my Father in the 60’s with pallets of old shop parts, tools, and you name it.
At a Ford dealership building that was being torn down and being replaced one item that drew a lot of attention was Henry Fords dealership picture. It sold for 50.00 which was a lot of money in the 60’s.
