1914 touring height

What is it full height of a 1914 touring, with top up, and nondemountable wheels.....

I have two 1914 touring cars with stock non-demountable wheels and tires. The height on each car is 83 to 83 1/2 inches. My garage door opening height is 82 inches from concrete to the door weatherstrip molding, the cars will NOT fit through the door with the top up. Good luck

Jay,
I had an American LaFrance fire engine and the top of the rear rail was about 1" too tall to clear the garage door. However, a "quick release" trim piece around the garage door, attached with a pair of wing nuts, remedied the situation.

When I bought my 23 touring, the garage door was about 1/2 inch too low for the car. I let let the air out of the rear tires. And yes, I did have trouble with a damaged tube stem. At the time, I didn't know the connection of tire slipping on the rim and low tire pressure. In 1977, tire shops were willing to install new stems on tubes. Today I haven't found any shops willing to do so. I could use, instructions on tube stem replacement.

The OP's questions was answered, but I seem to recall reading on the forum once that the T's with the "one man top" are not quite as tall as the "one man top" cars. Is that correct?

I do know that the runabouts (at least our old 15) do not sit as tall as the two man top touring cars. Our old house had a 7' high garage door and I could get the runabout in and out without lowering the top. Not so with our 21 or later our 11 touring. I tended to drive the 15 more often because I could just start it and go without having to put the top up or down. Last year we moved to a different house with 8' garage doors and problem solved.

Thanks Keith for the removable trim idea. The header is 84" so the cars should fit without the trim. We have been considering replacing two trim boards with a piece of aluminum facia trim. The actual door is tall enough so it should not be noticeable from the street. Projects for next summer, flurries are swirling today.
