For the past year or so I have had a passion to get the Low Bridge Kingston coil to fire better. I noticed when I started troubleshooting and rebuilding these that the current hardware was causing the coil to perform poorly. The output was weak and the coil was not consistent.
I could tune them for more power but found they would not fire on the HCCT, just buried the needle and would not idle on mag, even with a very strong mag.
So thought about it, and made several different points of different thickness and shapes. Ended up making up about 10 different prototypes until I found the winning combination.
The newly designed points are rock solid, and the best part they have double the output on running the same coil with the current point offering and set at the same amp draw on the HCCT.
I found the current point set around .8-1 A on the HCCT had an output of only 20-22mJ, very short dwell time and timing was drifting quite a bit. Set them for a higher output around where KW’s are 45-60mJ and they would not fire on the HCCT and would not idle.
My new points are the best of both worlds. They run around 1A on the HCCT and fire super consistent on the ECCT with an output of 55-60mJ. They actually rival KW’s.
I plan to write the details of the points but looking for any Low Bridge Kingston owners that would be willing to run these for a few hundred miles so I can gather more data. So if you know of any owners or have these coils and willing to run the, please contact me.

You are a credit to the hobby.
Figuring out how to get these early coils to perform well/excellently as opposed to adapting later units is a real boost to the hobby.
I am sure you realize there is little money to be made, but that wasnt the point was it? (no pun intended)

Thanks it was definitely out of passion and patience. Hopefully now that there is a feasible solution these can find their way back into 11-12 T’s.
I also plan on doing the same with the Heinze coils at some point, I found they have the same issue.
