1914 Touring Driving Adventures 2024

Post by SMHnat » Sun Jan 05, 2025 3:27 pm

I haven't been a very active club member the past few years, but I hope to make it down to homecoming this year. I finally got my 1914 Touring back on the road in the spring. I had a lot of driving to catch up on. Here are a few pictures of the adventures from this past year.
Starting off in May I went out to Pennsylvania for the AACA Greenhorn Tour. All participants were under the age of 45 and majority of the cars were teens, 20s, and early 30s.

White line shows the route I took.. that trip was about 1130 miles.

Next trip... this may come to a surprise, my car got trailered out to Gilmore for Celebration of Brass. I had enough room in the trailer to stick my car in there along with the Stoddard Dayton from Stahls we showed too. My 1914 was my rental car for the week... I was really surprised no one else drove their antique car to and from the hotel. It was a great way to get an extra 30 miles everyday. Plus all the touring it added up to about 420 miles.

A part of the tour at the Celebration of Brass we got to drive our cars around a small race track. Here is a picture of a Simplex and my T, both cars made it around the track several times. The Simplex was way better because simply its a better car.

In July we had a very successful antique car cottage trip get together with some friends in central Michigan.

Skip ahead to October. September will be a post all to itself.
My best friend, Jeron T. packed up his 1919 Touring and Stephen N. rode along with him. I was in my 1914 Touring and we left from about Detroit MI and drove all the way down to Hershey. It was Jerons first time doing that trip in a T.

After leaving Hershey I headed south and had quite a trip. I'll put more in a post to itself later. That trip ended about 2,340 miles.

The red line is the fall trip from October. Not all the trips are listed here but some of the highlights. I totaled up just under 5,100 miles of touring in my 1914 during 2024.

When I grow up, I want to be like you Seamus! I feel like this is the year I drove a long distance in my own T. It's time, I have the confidence now.

It's an amazing year with your 1914 Touring! It’s great to hear you’re getting back into the club activities. The AACA Greenhorn Tour and Celebration of Brass must have been incredible experiences, and it’s impressive how you’ve kept your car running strong. Your cottage trip in Michigan also seems like a fun and successful gathering. Looking forward to seeing more updates from your adventures! The GPG key error for Fedy indicates the primary key has expired. Since Fedy doesn’t host its own repository, check for updated keys or reconfigure the repository URL. You may also try disabling GPG checks temporarily for this repository. If the issue persists, seek solutions on Fedora forums or related GitHub discussions for more assistance. I had a positive experience with Academized academized.com when I needed help with a sociology paper. The writer was knowledgeable and followed all the guidelines I provided. The paper was insightful, original, and delivered on time. Their transparent pricing and plagiarism-free guarantee gave me peace of mind. Academized is a trustworthy service that I’ll continue to use for my academic assignments. Their commitment to quality is truly commendable.
