1927 ignition coil

Post by JoeG48 » Mon Mar 17, 2025 2:35 pm

Hello, I have three Ford style ignition coil boxes in working order. Can I use a KW style ignition coil along side of these?

Will it fit in the same box with the other three coils?

Where's Ron P. ? Pretty sure ignition coils were "standardized" after or during 1913.

Yes.
For best running, have them tuned on an ECCT.

If you are talking about a KW logo wood cased after market coil the answer is Yes.
The only limitation with any early 1914 and later Williams designed coils for cars with metal coilboxes is that you CANNOT put a metal top coil in a 1926/27 coilbox mounted on top of the engine. The tabs in the 1926/27 coilbox lid will not work with the metal top coils.
