Old Photo - Wes and Camping Trip

Post by Rich Eagle » Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:00 am

As I recall this is Mom's friend Wes back in the day. Another kitchen trunk is mounted on the back of his car. I'm not sure what the car is. Chevy or something else?

This is the only picture of an Austin I could download The back end looks more rounded then the one in Rich's picture.

I know a 1926 Some Thing Else is an Off Topic for some people, but not for me, I like it.

I thought something odd like a Ajax but not. GM cars seem to have a double belt. Not that it's important.
I'm thinking if it is Model T era and about cars it's not too OFF TOPIC. I started a couple threads that could qualify here but put them on the OT side. Not as many people look there for what I can tell.
I miss the others Old Photos so I try to find some to post.

In the interest of narrowing down the "guessology", the American Austin Co. was organized in 1929 and produced cars under license from the British Austin Motors Co. from 1930 through 1935. The car in the photo looks to be typical of models prior to 1927 given the styling hallmarks. ( I like the idea of a 1926 Sumpinelz !)

Thanks for the old Photos!
I remember reading only the 25 Chevrolet coupe and sedan used steel disk wheels with the 4-bolt pattern.

I am puzzled by those wheels. They appear to have 4 bolt rims which mount the rim and tyre to the disc wheel, just a T model rim is mounted. Then they appear to have 4 bolts which mount the disc to the hub. I have bever seen such an arrangement. If it is a factory offering, perhaps that will make identification easier.

Here is a photo of a '25 Chevy. I agree with Bill.
