Ricardo head color

Post by Craig Leach » Fri Sep 12, 2025 3:46 pm

Anyone know if Ricardo heads were painted any particular color? I just got mine back from the machine shop & getting ready to install it. It is completely bare so id needs painting & the only pic I have found with paint on one is red?
Thanks, Craig.

Most prefer to paint them red or black or yellow, or a matching color to your particular block.I remember the original color was an off-green that wasn’t very appealing from some of the originals I’ve seen. You can paint the raised lettering a nice contrasting color too.

The ones I've seen that appear to be original with the remains of original paint have been red. The one on my American speedster has been painted red.

I guess I didn't give the correct info for that question. I have a Ricardo head not a Waukesha Ricardo. Sorry don't know if it makes a difference?
