How to modify new wiper for 26-7 Coupe?
I bought what was available, knowing that it is not a direct fit. Has anyone extended the shank to work on a Coupe?

Vern, I assume by "extending the shaft" that you are referring to an electric or vacuum wiper motor, as if you were using the original hand wiper, this should not be necessary. I haven't done it but before I bought my vacuum wiper motor, I looked at some electric ones and found at least one that had interchangeable shafts of different lengths, but I do not remember the brand. I, eventually, found a Trico vacuum motor on EBAY that "fit like a glove", had the right shaft length, and even had a knob for manual operation like the original Trico motors that Ford offered as accessories.

The original Ford hand wiper came in two shaft lengths - open and closed cars.

Got the stainless one from Lang’s or Speedway Motors, shaft is 1 1/2” from right angle. Was bit long for 26-27 open car windshield frame, so added rubber washers. Might fit your closed car as is.

Sorry for confusion. This is for the improved Coupe, by hand. At the time of purchase, I was told it would not fit my car but no other option was available. Also, I have a reproduction aluminum windshield frame that does not yet have the hole drilled, nor the bracket yet.
