Hoping someone can help. I do not have seat springs in the front of my '25 touring. The previous owner had an upholstery shop build a front seat from a sheet of plywood with foam on it and then covered. The problem is it is way to high, I am looking at the top of the windshield frame when driving the car. This has been noted by others driving my car also over the years.
I know the proper way is to get a set of springs and coverings, etc. In the absence of trying to put all that together, I was wondering if someone could tell me what the height of the their proper seat is from the bottom of the spring to the top of the upholstery. My plan is to either compress the seat further and restaple the covering to tighten it up, or buy some denser smaller height upholstery foam and reduce the height that way.
It might also be advantageous to have some compressed heights while sitting in the seat so I can compare with what I have.

Probably should be about 4”. You eventually need proper springs in your seat cushion. It is a big part of the ride quality of the car. Foam is okay if you only make 20 minute trips, but usually isn’t great for long trips.

Seat in the ‘23 cutoff is foam and seat height is 5” and about 2-3” when compressed , depending on how the measurement is taken for body part mass seated!
As Adam posted the foam isn’t good at all compared to proper seat spring, for the Ford those seat springs are the only shock absorbers
Also, the foam was too stiff so bored some holes in the plywood base to let air out, that did help by a good measure.

Thanks guys! That gives me something to work with.
I wish I could find a decent set of seat bottom springs that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. But for now, this is what it will have to be. The seat is pretty comfy actually, it just was made to tall.
