Grey circle to left of topics has died?

I use to keep track of the grey circles to the left of a topic. This always let me know what was the last topic I read. I look at this forum every day and when I looked for the grey circle to see what I read last night it was way down by a topic I read on 12/27. Four days of stories are red and have not changed to grey. Is this common for others?

I still get grey circles today, unless I am not logged in.
