TT C-Cab Seat Arrangement
Hello fellow TTer’s again,
I’m now looking at moving forward with a seat replacement. Several years ago, I had a local upholster redo my one piece seat which again was not original to the truck. It works fine but is unwieldy to access the gas tank so went ahead and purchased Snyder’s repo seat spring set. In researching the old forum posts, it appears that this is correct for an early 24 C-cab like mine. Unfortunately, the posts did not show the upholstery arrangement on the seats other than one picture with seams and buttons that everyone appeared to say was wrong. Does anyone have any pictures of what is correct?

While its not much help to you, mine uses 'period' fabric on the seat
It is surprisingly comfortable, no 'sweat' in the summer heat and warm in the winter.

Well, you’ve shown us yours, so I haveta show you mine. Early on a cloudy day so poor photos - one from each side - aren’t too clear. But reupholstered as original using Snyder’s seat springs. No pleats. No leather covered buttons. Simple black piping around the top and bottom. Thought about installing a thin foam material covered backrest as original but just use a thin removable pillow.

Thanks George and Adrian. George - are your springs original or repos? Is there any support in the middle between the two cushions?

They’re Snyder’s perfect repops - just like yours. Nothing in between. Just have your passenger get up and get out then lift up passenger seat and pump then pay for gas.

Re: TT C-Cab Seat Arrangement
Here is the picture from the Ford parts list.
If it is like the TT closed cab, You should get a spring for the seat back, not just a piece of foam. And the back does not sit tight to the base cushion. The bottom of the back cushion is set up several inches from the top of the base. The springs in the cushion and seat back, as well as the position of the back plays a very important part in TT ride quality.

Re: TT C-Cab Seat Arrangement
But Bruce’s C Cab seat back is not even close to an Enclosed Cab seat back Adam. I’ve restored both. The C Cab seat back is a padding about 3/4” thick covered by a vinyl type fabric attached to a 1/4” cold roll steel frame with 6 heavy duty wires attached from top to bottom of frame onto which the padding is placed.
I’m interested to read in your Ford parts picture that they claim the C Cab top material was Leather !!
That’s news to me.

The seat back factory number was TT12344. I guess the only way you can be sure of how it was made then is to order the print.
