Help ID aluminum high compression head

I picked up this head recently with a bunch of parts, can anyone identify what this is? Who made it? The chambers look like a Z head. I may sell this in the classifieds. It’s brand new, never used. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

"R" could be for a Rader head - is it a low or high - if low, I'd be interested.

It is not one of R. G's heads. It is a z head.

I see some crude casting lines that my z head doesn't have plus the bolt holes look counted

It’s a high head. I can post more pictures tomorrow. It came from an old collector and I think this was purchased some time ago. It’s a nicely made head.

My low Reeder head had the same redundant oblong hole between cylinders 2 and 3. It also had 'Reeder' cast inside the water outlet.

I have an older Z head with no Z id. Agree Reeder heads all said Reeder.

I am thinking someone cut up and used a stock head as a pattern. The chambers were built up and modified to what they wanted and used to make the mold. The lines running across it may be were it was cut apart. If you have a spare block you might do a trial fit first. The maker may not have taken into account for shrinkage. (One would hope they did if they got this far) You might also check how much water it holds compared to stock head. Block off the water outlet and flip over setting them level and fill both. See if it has about the same capacity as stock.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas! :roll:

The Reeder heads have a "4" on the water outlet, and they don't have the "Z head/Haibe" shape to the combustion chamber. Their combustion chambers are shaped like the Ford ones, only shallower. And yes, they said "Reeder" inside the water outlet. I don't know what this "R" head is.

The head is identical to the one that was on our Coupelet that is now in the Piquette Museum. It was driven many miles with excellent results. It is a Jensen head, made by Rod Jensen in Chicopee Falls, Mass. It was advertised in the Vintage Ford magazine in the 60's.

I have a Jensen head on my 24 touring.
I have to look at the casting marks, but my head does not have the "groove" cut into the combustion chamber, it's straight across. The Z head combustion chamber looks more like the OP's, and should be 6:1.
Kevin Prus told me, the head on my car is THE head he used to make his mold for the 8:1 Prus head.

This was before I cleaned it, you can see the combustion chamber is not the same.

R. G's heads are flat on the inside, are all the same depth, from one end to the other. They will " PING ".

The Z head is built like the Waukesha, and Hebbie High Power.

Guys, I found out by looking on the box that this came in that this head was made by Rod Jensen of Massachusetts in the late 1970s. I have been told that the combustion chambers are basically identical to the modern Z heads that are offered today. This head is a low style head and has the Ford script. The modern Z heads offered are only high style and have no Ford script, so this is a pretty nice head. I just posted it in the classifieds if anyone is interested. Thanks for all the help.

Funny, my Jensen head looks identical on the top, but the chamber does not have the V shaped notch. (See pics above). Supposed to be 8:1....

Has anyone posted the amount of compression (measured in lbs) that the Z head produces or the amount of compression that the Prus head produces.? Just wondering.
