What a deal!

Post by Allan » Thu Aug 08, 2019 6:56 am

Today I took my tow vehicle to have an other set of tyres fitted. They were a swap meet purchase, 90% tread, replaced by a youngster with mud tyres.
Four tyres, purchased, fitted and balanced, $180. One new tyre is $219.

But the best part was a gift of two Olympic Butyl rubber 30 x 3.5" tubes. They have never had a puncture. Both had new stick-on rubber valve stems, but they were too short to extend through the wheel felloe! Not to worry. I have machined brass valve extensions in my puncture kit, and these will be covered by a Dill adjustable dust cover. I feel sorry for the fellow who replaced these with modern rubbish.
