Cleaning old grease in black top
I’d like to clean some of the old established oil / grease droppings on my paved black top drive way. Has anyone tried enzymes like those used in drains?

I'm thinking out of the box here: how about a long-nap roller and 5 gallons of oil? An even look on the driveway, and spots will never show again

Blacktop is a mix of asphalt, sand and gravel. Asphalt is a petroleum product. Question is if you used a sealer o top of the blactop that wasn't another petroleum product. problem is , in removing the oil stain you may remove some asphalt. You could try scrubbing with Dawn dish-washing liquid / water mix or oil-dry. There are both latex & petroleum sealers - talked to you local home improvement store to see what you can use.
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Hi Mark--
I haven't used this product, but I've used their concrete cleaner and it's worth the money.

If that doesn't work then just go to actcleaners.com and look around.

Tide and a scrub brush works well.

I would try a 3 step process.
1) Put an ample layer of either SPEEDY DRY or CAT LITTER, 1 inch thick, on the spot you wish to clear.
2) With work boots, shoes, or sneakers, vigorously grind in the material into the spot with your foot until granules have become dust. I have a special 8 inch 2x4 block I use under foot instead of using the sole of one's shoes.
3) Sweep away dust and inspect target area. Repeat as necessary. Then sweep away all material, put down some dish soap, and work it into the spot with your shoe. Let sit for a half hour and rinse with a hose.
stain will barely be noticeable.
"Try it...... you'll like it!"

Sure I’ve tried kitty litter several times. Doesn’t do much except become impossible to clean once it gets wet. This is old and hard not fresh oil.
