Been a few years since i put one on
Anyone running one are these clockwise or counter clockwise for the mag have one of each dont wanna send wrong mag in as im waiting on DMC gear set

ROTATION Columbo cross drive
Bob, hope this helps. This is what the points set (Bosch) should look like for a crossdrive front magneto plate. I’d have to dig into it as to what it’s called, clockwise or anti-clockwise. The side drive ,that mounts on a shelf and attached where the generator would go uses the same rotation. The 3 gear side drive (splitdorf) uses the opposite rotation as shown.

Clockwise -Columbo cross drive
Getting my head wrapped around it again, it’s called a clockwise rotation. It’s important to remember this. The Bosch DU4 mag will revolve either way, but you need to have the correct interrupter plate ( points plate ) in place. The rest can easily be changed by moving the gears to time.

I'm currently installing a Columbo cross drive on the speedster project. If it will help I can look at the rotation of the Columbo output shaft tomorrow
One thing I noticed is the ball bearing thrust assembly is poorly designed. On my assembly there is no way to stop the assembly from rotating with the shaft. So the whole assembly just becomes a big thick thrust washer. Also there is no way for grease or oil to reach the ball bearings from the oil or grease cup depending on what style is on you unit. I just put grease in the ball bearings and used brass thrust washers between the ball bearing assembly and the casting. That way everything acts as a thrust washer. I'm going to use an oil cup with a felt wick on mine. As long as the end thrust is controlled almost anything should work. If you have not already taken the shaft and ball bearing assembly apart. Be careful and do not lose a ball bearing. Do not ask how I know this.
. I have another set of new ball bearings if you need any. I had to buy 50 of the little buggers...
