Kim,

If you don't find a good home for them (they may be safe with you where they are) I would be interested in obtaining them. I am hoping to establish a free "loaning library" for body wood body plans and for later metal clad bodies rewooding plans for Model T Fords. And adding information on the 1903-1908 bodies that were used on Fords would be a logical addition. Long term goal is to digitize the plans so folks could down load them and have them printed out at the local office supply or other place that has a larger printer. I'm still working full time, so I wouldn't get it done this year -- but if my health holds out, I want to put effort into that project.

Several years ago I spoke with folks at the MTFCA and they were not interested in trying to sell re-wooding plans but were open to having them made available through the MTFCA Museum. They may have changed their minds, but I believe the museum will be around longer than I will :). And once digitized the Early Ford Registry could also maintain copies. Having them in more than one location would help ensure that a computer/server failure at one location did not loose all the copies. And of course "The Cloud" may make the two server location idea unnecessary.

Side note - several documents were lost in a fire at the Benson Ford Archives last century. Having more than one site makes it more likely they will be safe for a longer period of time.

As always, thank you for all your many many years of support to our hobby!

Very Respectfully,

Hap l9l5 and still have the 1907 S Runabout

Kim,

I sent my contact information to you through the forum's e-mail and private message function. Hopefully one of those works. I also sent a test message to myself to see if it works ... and both the e-mail and the PM I sent to myself arrived OK. So it probably will work.

By the way my efforts aren't nearly as note worthy as the example below:

"In 1988, as North American Aviation (NAA) was closing its Columbus plant, engineer Ken Jungeberg saved thousands of invaluable original P-51 Mustang engineering drawings from being destroyed in an incinerator. Despite orders to destroy the WWII-era documents, Jungeberg salvaged the soaking wet records after a pipe burst in the storage room and stored them for 31 years." (thanks to AI)

But, hopefully it will help preserve a little more of the early history.

Very Respectfully,

Hap l9l5 cut off & l907 S Runabout
