For sale 1924 Model T Coupe.
I bought this in 1976 and it was running by 1978, done as an amateur restoration.
Over the years I have greatly enhanced the Coupe and it now runs and drives like a Model T was designed to when it ruled the world in the nineteen twenties.
Improvements include:
Rebuilt engine. Originally I ran the motor without any changes. Then after a two week trip down to Baja in 1989, I rebuilt the motor with reground crank, all new Babbitt by Vic Terrell, aluminum pistons bored 0.030” oversize and a Chaffin Touring camshaft. The clutch is a modified Chevy 400.
New four flat tube radiator, about a year old. I have the original but a fan blade broke and made a mess of the inside.
Etimer. This is a wonderful device which eliminates all coil problems but looks and sounds just like the original.
Milled head. A friend milled 0.1” off the head which increased the compression ratio and has been very reliable over the last twenty years.
Replace low drum a couple of years ago and is equipped with demountable kevlar bands.
Ruckstell rear axle. This was purchased from Stan Howe several years ago and is an essential addition to any Model T.
Rocky Mountain Brakes. These were part of the original restoration and were relined a couple of years ago.
New old looking speedometer from John Stultz mounted in an original enclosure. It works well and looks perfect. The car has “year of manufacture” California license plates.
Spare wheel mounted behind the boot. The two rear tires are white wall and look so good I bought two more for the front wheels. Unfortunately due to ailments I have been unable to mount them but they go with the car. Their steering gear ratios have been change to 5:1 from a 26-7 column and make driving with the 4.50x21 tires a pleasure.
The rest of the vehicle is standard 24 T with hand operated windscreen wiper, interior and exterior mirrors and wind up windows. The paint is showing it’s age of 47 years but still looks and the vehicle runs good.
Illness forces sale, the 1915 Speedster will be next for sale. Delivery may be possible for expenses.
Asking $8500 obo
