Back on the market, I am coming with a trailer and cash tomorrow and tomorrow never came. He said the wife had a better place for the money. I need to sell, $7,900.

Re: 1947 Mercury Coupe 114X.
Since this is a T forum instead of a flathead V8 forum there probably isn't the appreciation of how rare this car is. Canada had a unique sales network after WW2 resulting in Ford sized Mercuries and Mercury sized Fords. This is a Ford sized Mercury, a very neat car. I'm not in the market for another vehicle, but if I was I would make the trip north to look at this one. Hard to beat a good early V8 for style and drive-ability.
I'm traditionally an Early V8 person, but T people and T tours are too much fun to miss out on.

Re: 1947 Mercury Coupe 114X.
Hi, Mr. Peterson. My first car was a 1947 Mercury Club Coupe. Given to me by my parents on my fifteenth birthday in 1955. Beautiful car. However, I don't recall the 114X designation. Could you tell me what that means?
Your car is a real looker also. I can't believe somebody hasn't snapped it up. Thanks and good luck.

Re: 1947 Mercury Coupe 114X.
Hi Bob, the 114X is a rare model made in Canada. The 114 refers to the wheelbase. The regular Mercury has a 118 inch wheelbase. The Ford coupe would also be 114. The flathead engine has a Ford Co. rebuild tag. I have had many interested people. several people made appointments to look at it, none showed up. I am sure the first person to look at it would buy it. If it does not sell by Monday it is going in the shop for repairs. This car is worth at least $12-14,000 driving down the road. About $500 to get it there. is newer than I usually work on. Thanks, Bob.
