Found this bearing packer at AutoZone, near the grease.  $10 listed on the shelf tag.  Scanned for around $24 at the register.  I asked the manager to check the price and got it for $10.  Your mileage may vary based on your local store.   $10 was my price point to give one a try.

I have a similar one I used ONCE.  Got as much grease still on my hands as with that contraption so I still do it the old fashioned way. A rag and a little lacquer thinner or Orange Goop cleans me up just fine.
