For those that are bidding up in small increments using the stock Ebay bid process, here is a tip:
If you really want an item, you really need to be using an online sniper service, I use auctionsniper.com.
You enter the auction number into the sniper site along with the absolute maximum that you are willing to spend on the item.
The sniper program will put in your maximum bid for you, mere seconds before the auction ends. If your last second bid is higher than all the other last second bids, you will win the item at whatever price it took to win (often less than your maximum bid).
The charge to use the sniper site is a tiny fraction of the winning bid price, well worth the service.
You can bet that others are using such sites, so if you want to be competitive you need to up your game!
