Looking for a pair of Rocky Mountain brake bands for a 26 (buy or trade for earlier bands)
I have a new complete set of Rocky Mountain brakes for a small drum car, but I need a set for my 26 speedster. I checked with Chaffin’s, who normally carry the bands separately, and they are not available at the moment. I was planning to keep the parts for the small drum as spares for my 22 that has Rocky Mountains on already.
So, does anyone have a set of good Rocky Mountain 26-27 bands they would be willing to sell? I don’t need any of the other parts, just the bands. I would also be willing to swap my bands if someone has 26-27 bands and needs the earlier ones.

I dont think the mounting brackets are the same since the drums are not the same diameter. Further research is warranted.

John is correct. The small drum and large drum mounting brackets are different and will not interchange.

Sorry I did not make it clear. I am using custom brackets that support the Rocky Mountain brakes and drop the axle. So different brackets are not an issue for me. I just need the right bands.

This comes up every once in a while. Has anyone considered having a piece of flat rolled into a ring & welded just a little smaller than the
26-27 drum, heat & press over the 26-27 drum, weld it on & have it turned or ground to the correct size for the larger drum? That would make
it a much more robust drum also.
Craig.

Hi - Don't know if these will work for you. I they are for TT Truck but fit on 26-27 drum. Band is a little too wide but don't think that matters.
I have three of these I was going to list for sale. Neil

If push comes to shove, I could make bands. But, I understand the parts will be available once things get back to normal for the folks who make Rocky Mountain.
I am not sure those bands are for Rocky
Mountains. They have a bracket I don’t see on the ones I have.

The bands that Neil posted pictures of are late '20s Chevrolet and will work just fine on 26-27 drums. If you are making brackets, just design them to work with the Chevy bands. Or- call Bud Williams an buy just buy the RM bands from him.
