3 & 4 Dip Cast Aluminum Oil Sumps- Any Interest?
I have had several recent inquiries regarding my 3 and 4 Dip cast aluminum oil sumps. I have stocked these in the past but demand has dropped off over the years as costs have continued to increase. I can do a run of these if there is sufficient interest. The casting is designed to work with either a 3 or 4 dip pan. When used on a 4 dip pan, the rear rod dip is exposed as shown in the 2nd picture below. If you are interested please post a reply here , PM me with a message or send me an e-mail at dmcgearsATyahooDOTcom. Estimated cost will be in the $275- $300 range plus shipping, as I'm getting a current quote from the foundry. As always, they would be cast in 356 T-6 aluminum. I will need firm commitment for a minimum of 5 sumps in order to do this. Lead time from the foundry is around 6 weeks. Thanks, Dan

We just received a current quote from the foundry. The price will be $250 each plus shipping plus sales tax if shipping to Ca.
If you have any interest or an up coming project, now is the time to order. Quoted lead time was 8 weeks. Thanks, Dan

Dan, I am unsure of the shrinkage rate between aluminum vs. brass/bronze, but can your foundry cast one of the deep sumps in bronze if you had an order already doing other alloy ones??

I can certainly check for you, but that is going to be one very heavy casting. I would imagine the metal cost alone would be north of $150.00
stay tuned............

Changing from the original question, did you make exhaust header components at one time for a stock head model T speedster ? Thank you

At school,(art dept.) bronze is now about 6 bucks a pound. Depending on how thick the casting is this could easily be 10-12 pounds.
