WTB 26/27 Roadster pickup bed

Post by JonLevine » Sun May 21, 2023 8:18 pm

I am building a 26 Roadster pickup and want to buy an original 26 or 27 pickup bed. I’m in NJ but willing to travel for the right opportunity.

Thanks!

Jon, certainly you can find one within a day's drive of you, owing to the number of states close to N.J., but if you don't, I have one that i had hauled from California to Houston, TX, for the purpose of making a trailer to pull behind my 27 coupe. That project will probably not happen so i'd sell it. it is solid except for the rolled edges on the top of both sides. I was going to fix the 'poor boy's' way by just putting a piece of electrical conduit in each rolled edge. Today, i also saw a 26-27 bed, also, for sale in the Houston area on Facebook Marketplace. It looks much better than mine. It looks to even have some original black paint on it. Only bad part is the tailgate has seen better days , but is workable. Owner asking $1000.

Thank you for your reply. I found the bed in Houston on Facebook marketplace. It think it’s either a 25 or early 26 and the front stake pocket is right up against the bulkhead. The tailgate is available as a restoration part. I have had very good luck with Facebook marketplace finding stuff so far, I will keep looking but thanks again for your reply.
