I have a pair of original hood shelves for a low radiator car. Instead of the hole in the top face at the front end for the headlight wiring grommet, they gave a cut-out in the outside edge to allow the wiring to get to the headlights. This makes them early items.
The hood latches are of a different shape, more like the early cast items, but they are of stamped steel just like the later ones. Can anyone enlighten me on when the change was made?
Later style on the left
