WTB original Driver side (LHD) 1909-1910 spindle
changed the header because I found out asking for a driver side spindle was confusing, especially for folks that have RHD vehicles. Best John

G’day Mate, I have a 1910 driver side 1 piece spindle. But here in Brisbane we sit on the right side to drive. Will that be all right Guvner?

George, you are a stirer! That's my job. I do notice more vendors causing less confusion by referring to left and right rather than driver's and passenger side in their posts lately.

Re: Wanted to buy UNITED STATES PRODUCTION authentic Driver side 1909-1910 one piece spindle in good shape.
Car sides are distinguished while sitting in vehicle facing forward, left and right sides, hopefully this eliminates all confusion. No need to state drivers side vs passengers side.

Re: Wanted to buy UNITED STATES PRODUCTION authentic Driver side 1909-1910 one piece spindle in good shape.
John, I reckon all 1909 T parts were of US production, so adding that stipulation does nothing to help allay confusion. All cars have a left and a right side as per Joe's post. We are left to presume you want a left side spindle. No confusion there.

Allan.
Left and right side certainly do apply. Drivers and passenger side is not as simple as it may seem!!

Is left right? If you have a pair and sell one, what is left, right? or If you have two rights and sell one, which one is left?

Re: Advice & Education for sale contact George, Allan, Joe & Layden hehehehe
It really can be confusing:
Right Hand drive cars drive on the left side of the road while Left Hand drive cars drive on the right side of the road.
On a Model T the wheel nut on the left front wheel is a right hand thread and the right front wheel is a left hand thread.
--
The left side of the car is always to the driver's left on a right hand drive car .
The right side of the car is always to the driver's right side on a left hand drive car.
--
Weather patterns usually travel from the West to the East (left side of a map to the right) while time too travels to from West to East (its later in the day to the East, same map).
--
A two-lane two-way road is a single roadway with one lane traveling in each direction.
--
In most left hand traffic countries such as Australia and New Zealand, revolving doors for people revolve clockwise into the building (same direction as roundabouts for cars)
In most right hand traffic countries like the USA, revolving doors for people revolve counter-clockwise same into a building (same drectionas their roundabouts for cars
In the UK revolving door rotation is mixed but not their roundabouts
--
But since we drive on a Parkway and park in a driveway it all makes sense

Frank, "The left side of the car is always to the driver's left on a right hand drive car." True, but the left side of the car is always on the left of a Left hand side driver too.
The point is the left side and right side of the car are fixed, so using these terms in descriptions is NOT confusing. Using passenger/driver's side IS confusing.

Should we start to say Port and Starboard, Fore and Aft?

Any passengers in the Aft seat of my Touring are sitting Abaft the Beam.
And since people don't know hand signals, we could use horn blast, 1 short blast for Starboard turn and 2 short for a Port turn and 3 short blast for backing up.
