Wanted - One 30x3.5 Hayes Metal Felloe - Found!
I was able to get three felloes from Melba Nolan (thanks, Melba!), but I need a fourth so that I can build up a spare set of 30x3.5 wheels for my 1924. I already have the hubs and spokes, I just need one felloe.
The three felloes that I already have have four "dents" in the rim to allow clearance for the lug "feet", as shown in the attached pic.

Re: Wanted - One 30x3.5 Hayes Metal Felloe
Mark, that "dent" to accommodate the foot on the Hayes lugs is the same as those on all my Hayes wire wheels. Whenever rims and felloes come up for discussion, there is often a photo of a supposed Hayes rim with the outside felloe face vertical, with no rolled in edge, and a relief cut in the edge for the lug foot. I wonder if such felloes are actually Hayes felloes, or another brand made to accommodate Hayes rims in the quest for interchangaebility between rims.

Not sure when the "straight" vs. "rolled" edge Hayes felloes came into fruition but I have some 23" but I've seen & have quite a few 21"'s.

Sreve, I have seen many 21" rims with the straight-up side, but no 23" ones. the two sets of 21" Hayes wire wheels I have seen are different again. The outer edge of the felloe is rolled to the outside! Finding rims to fit these is extremely difficult. I once found a pair of front wheels with one Hayes rim and one Ford rim. The Ford rim had jumped the outside felloe edge, and the only way to get it off the wheel was to cut the tyre off first.

I have 2 felloes (with spokes and hubs) but I don't know their sizes. One has "factory" dents and one was dented post-factory. I will get pictures and dimensions for you tonight. I bought them because I needed the '26-'27 spindles that were in them. I don't need the rest. I can remove the few remaining spokes.

After seeing some photos, I'll be buying the "factory dented" felloe graciously offered by Mark Nunn.
Steve T, I'm still interested in yours if you come across a nice one in your stash.

I thought the Hayes wheels had an actual notch cut into the edge for the rims.

I have seen some on this forum with notches, but the ones I have seen in person have had the "dents". There is some discussion on this further up in this thread.
