Original C Cab Delivery Body

Post by henryford2 » Sat Nov 18, 2023 12:24 pm

Listing this for a friend. If there are any questions the contact information is in the description. Do not contact me, I know very little about the body, although I've seen it and it has a fantastic shape with some outstanding original patina!

" A great start to a unique auto build. It's been hanging around here for a long time, and perhaps someone can give it a new life. Contact Tim in Norwalk, Ohio 44857. We are halfway between Toledo and Cleveland. Tmorsher@icloud.com to reach Tim. Looking for $1,600 or best offer. Thanks"

I sold this body to Tim can't remember how many years ago. The XL bakery was in Seattle. I had hoped Tim would have had it restored by now. I hope the new owner gets it up and finished. Good luck.

This bakery was on Queen Hill in downtown Seattle. When my father was a kid, he and his pals walked home from school and their route was through an alley which the bakery was located. Often there was pie in an open windowsill cooling. OfCourse the kids stole the pie. They thought the baker was silly to keep putting pies in the window about the time they came by from school. When I found the body I had no idea of the back story. I was always going to restore but time got away from me.

Tim's a busy guy. It was on his radar to get done, but he's been busy restoring his Model F and Mercury Speedster amongst many other interesting projects!

Frontyboy - I’m the proud owner of the pie wagon, and am looking forward to keeping any history you have with the T. Do you know what year the body is? Have any other details about the business?

Thank you. ~Bryan

Going from my fathers memory had no idea of the exact year but it had a very tarnished brass radiator. We never could find any advertising or photos of a complete truck. He said that the bakery had a lot down the street from the bakery and there were a number of these trucks in the lot. The major body builder in the Seattle area was Geo Heiser and sons. I contacted them years ago and the company had been sold and all old records were dumped when they moved.

Thank you. Sounds like this would have originally went on a 1915 or 1916 frame?
