FS W&C Accessory Shock Absorbers (SOLD)

Post by ThreePedalTapDancer » Thu Dec 28, 2023 7:24 pm

Here is an original set of W & C, also known as “Webber and Company” accessory double arm spring shocks. They have “W&C, Hoopeston, Ill.”cast into the faces. They are made of heavy steel. They are in nice physical condition. They have no damage or repairs, and include the correct original springs. They have minimal wear on the bushing holes for the leaf springs, and some moderate wear on the rear pivots that bolt through the housing. These can easily be re-bushed if desired. The bolts are clean bare steel and oiled. They were designed for the front springs to loop over and connect to the 4 leaf spring clamp bolts, and the rears to connect together over the early pre-13 rear frame mounts, or by using the small included crossmember brackets on later frames. These are interesting and unusual shocks, hard to find in usable clean condition. 250 includes shipping.

I have two sets of these shockers on T's. Duncan and Fraser offered English versions of these, made by Richards Willcox. They work really well on my wide body roadster, so I left them on Henrietta when I returned her to the road. There were no bushes in the cast arms on ours, so I fitted bronze bushes in the roadster ones, which got rid of the wear in the process. A whole set in usable condition is a rare find indeed.
