Michael-
Drive shaft spool or rear axle sleeve? Don't have but pictures help
I have a new style rear axle sleeve puller, must be an earlier version, that has a spring behind the button than the newer one doesn't have. Once the button is in the hole in the sleeve it isn't going to slide out.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

The Steven's rear axle sleeve remover is the one to get! Highly recommended.

Does the Stevens tool remove the sleeve while the axle shaft is still in place, or must it be an empty housing?

The Stevens rear axle sleeve puller is hollow in the center, so it can be used with the axle shafts still in place.

The one Dave Huson posted is the ducks guts. You can use it with the axle still in the housing. The hose clip shown is a later addition, probably to make up for the loss of the spring used to hold the little register in the sleeve hole. I don't have one, nor do have the TT one I passed on a few years back!

Scott Conger reproduced some a few years ago and they are great. He said he would not do it again, but maybe if you ask real nice he might be talked into it. Dan

I have an original dealership type rear axle sleeve puller I’d sell. Let me go out to the barn and take a picture of it.

Here it is Michael. If this is what you’re looking for, email me. I’ve used it over half a century, its heavy duty and in good shape. Can also be used when axle is in the housing.
