WANTED Racing style steering wheel
I'm looking for a steering wheel for my 1926 speedster project as used on racing cars at the time. 4 flat spokes with a hub to fit the Model T steering shaft. Wooden rim preferred. I can purchase and pick up at Hershey.
I know it's a long shot but I thought I would try and see if somethings available.
Thanks,
Gene

Re: WANTED Racing style steering wheel
Good luck on finding an original!
If that doesn't pan out, Look up a gentleman name, Joshua Shaw, he is on IG under the handle of "jacobs_lader". He works at the Harry A. Miller restoration facility And on the side produces a very nice four spoke race wheel. Imagine that he could help build something that would suit even the most particular of needs.
Good luck

Probably something like this?

It makes a difference what the T is its going into. Often in a speedster the T dish places the wheel too far from the driver.

Imagine that if the gentleman wanted one scoop of vanilla and some whip cream on the side, he'd say so. He wants the full sundae, toppings and brandied cherries. Let him dream!

Hi Gene,
The fatman adaptor the venders sell moves the wheel up or back
About that much would be a win win. Also Speedway Motors sells a 15” 4 spoke with a 2” dish & 17” 4 spoke 1” dish you will need to make a hub for the Speedway wheels
Craig.

Didn't find the kind of wheel I'm looking for. Lots of stock wheels though.

I rambled across this one. The seller had two different ones posted.

Re: WANTED Racing style steering wheel
I have a similar one. Just a caution when looking at any wheel: while the hole diameter may be the proper size; the thickness of the hub may be too thick for bolting onto the steering pinion shaft. Not sure if I did that to the one I have if it would still be too thickRecklessKelly wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 1:08 pmI rambled across this one. The seller had two different ones posted.
