WTB - Polished brass tail lamp bracket

Post by bdtutton » Sat Dec 21, 2024 9:48 pm

I am looking for a polished brass tail light bracket that is no longer available. The part number from Lang'w was 3660BBR
.
Here is a link to the page on Lang's showing the part is no longer available. Does anyone know where I can get one?
https://www.modeltford.com/item/3660BBR.aspx
.
Thank you...

If you have a sample one, or one made in steel or cast iron, I can cast one in brass for you. (You would have to do the polishing. I don't have time for that.) You will notice that the one in the Lang's picture has some blemishes in the surface finish on it. Mine will come out about 3% smaller than the original you provide. (I could have your sample scanned, enlarged by 3%, and then cast it, but you would have to pay for the 3D scanning and making the larger pattern to be used to cast it. Since there is only ONE per car, there is nothing to compare it to, and no one will be able to tell you it is 3% smaller than the one on THEIR car, so that is hardly worth worrying about, unless you are the Smithsonian.) (Depending on the size, it would run between $100 and $125 to do using a sample one, and just making a casting using that sample as a pattern.)

You might want to give the ad a month or two to generate a response, because someone might have one sitting on a shelf or in a box of stuff under the workbench, and that would be a cheaper alternative. But if no one has one, and you can't find one at Bakersfield/Tulare, Duncan/Chickasha, or Hershey and you get tired of looking, let me know. Is there someone in your local club or regional group that can lend you one? (I have NEVER lost a loaned part in 48 years.)

William,
It is really cool that you can cast in brass. There are not many people that can do that. I will wait a while to see if anyone has one of these and let you know.
Thank you...Bryan

You may want to try this place in Canada, the website says they are getting some in soon?
