this is a partial set of items needed to build a "Poormans Rajo " ... i am uncertain who produced this adapter plate , but the design is typical of the eccentric counterbores used in the period conversions ... plate is steel and is surface ground to .980" ... included is a re-buildable 1928 Chev. 2 port cylinder head ( needs rocker arm set ) , the steel adapter plate and front water outlet adapter ...price is $625 plus shipping by Fed-Ex or pickup here in northern Colorado ...Gene French contact thru MTFCA site

please note: the term " POORMAN'S RAJO " is just an old term that probably originated during the hay days of early dirt track racing ...was probably used in a condescending manner by well funded racers to minimize the status of less fortunate drivers ( funding) ... NONE of these items interchange with RAJO or any other manufacturers speed parts of the era ... this modification could have been done by a local garage or machine shop ... it consists of a standard Chev. cylinder head and an adapter plate drilled and counterbored for socket head screws to mount onto Ford motor block ... eccentric counterbores are made in the adapter plate to correspond with the Ford cylinder bores and to position the Chev. valves and rocker arms in alignment with the Ford Tappets ... push rods were made to link the tappets and rockers ... offset water passages were connected to facilitate cooling ...the later 2 port exhaust ( also the 3 port exhaust head ) and 2 port intake head was preferred , but the earlier single exhaust port head also was used ... performance was improved by the cross flow design and cost was low ...a POORMAN'S RAJO ...i post this to answer several inquiry's regarding the reference to RAJO ... these are just my thoughts and are not documented ... i have heard the term since i was young and 2 old racers in this region did use the term " POORMAN'S RAJO " ...hope this is a clear explanation ... i really do not know where the term originated ...Gene French
