WTB ‘26-‘27 Tail Lights
Looking for a pair of ‘26-‘27 tail lights, (actually I think they started to use the drum tail light in 1924) one license bracket and left and right fender mounting brackets or any of those parts.

Re: WTB ‘26-‘27 Tail Lights
Tail light, or the accessory C.M Hall manufactured drum Stop light? If you're talking about the standard issue Tail light, they are plentiful but the license plate bracket is not removable from the mounting base for the light, and Ford never offered a fender to light stand for the right hand side because they never offered dual tail lights as an option. The right hand stand was made and sold by many vendors, if they are still available. If you're talking about the Hall manufactured drum Stop light, the lights come up, occasionally but your lucky if you find a cheap one in restorable condition. The Hall drum light mounts to a separate license plate bracket that, in turn, mounts to the Ford fender to light stand. If a right hand light is used, a modification will be necessary as the bolt spacing for the drum light is slightly different from the Ford fender to light stand. I have solved this, in the past, by modifying a 24-27 Dodge license plate bracket, which are much more plentiful than the Ford license plate bracket. As for price, I've picked them up for as little as $25.00 without license bracket, but seen them sell on EBAY for as much as $250.00.

I'm just looking for the standard lights, the C.M. Hall would be a bonus though. I know there wasn't a right side tail light. I want to hookup turn signals' The aftermarket right side bracket is still available and I figured I could reconfigure the license bracket as the piece in between.

David, if the standard tail light is what you desire, and you already have the complete left side assembly (fender to license plate bracket, and license plate/tail light assembly), then all you need is the aftermarket right side, fender to light bracket and another light assembly. If a license plate bracket is not desired on the right side, you will have to do some cutting and grinding to leave only the center part of the license plate bracket where the tail light is located. Of course, if you don't have any of the left or right lights, you'll need everything that I've mentioned. Also, I can't remember if the standard light used a single or double contact socket. If its a single, you'll have to change them to a double for directional signals, and I believe those sockets are available from the vendors.

I don’t have the correct left tail light, and yes, I’ll have to change them to double contact sockets. My plan for the right side is to get the available right side aftermarket mounting bracket from one of the vendors and use the license plate bracket to mount the tail light by cutting off the plate mounting ears, then round off the bottom of what is left of the bracket to give it a more finished look……. All I need now are the parts!

Consider using new '28 model A tail lights. Tuna cans. They are very attractive. A bit smaller than the accessory stop/tail light,
(better proportioned IMHO) but with the same 2 functions. Available nickle or paint em black. They mount directly to the 27 tail light stands.

Ford did offer right side mounting brackets. Our Canadian cars all have them, along with the license plate bracket. I have a pair on my 27 LHD tudor now.

I stand corrected, Allan. I wasn't thinking about Canadian or exported cars because, more than likely, he doesn't have one, or he wouldn't be asking the question or looking for parts.

David, I've got so many of the left side stands, license brackets and tail lights, I'd send you a set with you paying shipping, but my parts are in storage 280 miles away, round trip, and my wife got out of the hospital from being treated for high blood pressure and is on new medication and is very weak. I'm not sure when I'll be able to leave her for a full day.

The Right Side Tail Light Bracket seems to be another part no longer available.

Re: WTB ‘26-‘27 Tail Lights
I talked to Steve at Lang’s a few days ago. He said he just sold the last one he had and just ordered 5 more. I would think their supplier would have told them they weren’t available, I’ll have to call him again tomorrow.
