Trailex Aluminum Trailer built to Haul a Model T.
This trailer has better records than your Ferrari!
Ordered new in 1980, always stored indoors (except, of course, when on the road).
It has made 17 trips in its life totaling 14,990 miles.
Full floor and enclosure frame fabricated by the factory in 1989.
Last used for a tour in June 2000.
Model: CT-70SS 3,000 lb. capacity.
This trailer was recommissioned last fall with the intention of making a cross-country trip, and since then the plans have changed and it is now for sale (sorry, but the car sitting on it is not).
$2,500 on parts and labor were spent to get it back on the road, including new wheel / tire assemblies (the old ones come with it as spares -- they were only replaced due to age), new hydraulic surge brakes all around (including a new master), electrical gone through, and lights put back in working order and replaced, where necessary.
Obviously, the roadster shown on the trailer is not included.
It is currently assembled as-shown with the enclosure framework installed and the top cover in place. The trailer is designed for a brass T to go in with its top up. The canvas sides come with it, also. All of the canvas has always been stored in the interior of the house and is not rotted or cooked. This trailer started life as an open-center car hauler and could be reconfigured as such if the new owner desires. Trailex's are a mechanical assembly of extrusions rather than a welded structure.
Asking $5,500. Please message me through the forum for my contact information. I'm happy to talk on the phone. Thanks!
This picture from years ago is to show how it looks with the enclosure fully installed.
