I've been around these old Fords all of my 60 years, but this is my first experience with the oil lamps. Saturday night's light parade is going to be Lit!!

Better use mosquito oil in those lamps.

Dave, there's nothing awkward about a bunch of old dudes that wouldn't even know each other, if not for some web forum regarding rickety old cars of one specific design.

That is Mark in the passenger seat. First time ever riding a Model T. We went on a tour of the Ford campus across the street from The Henry Ford. He is a designer at Ford.

Re: 2025 Greenfield Village Old Car Festival.
In spite of a few things gone wrong, I had a great time.
The first time I tried to take my ‘26 Runabout out of the trailer it wouldn’t start. I apparently installed a bad starter. My son and Bob Barrett Jr. (Cubby) convinced me to change it on the field this morning. I dropped one of the 12-24 cover screws in the grass and amazingly Bob found it. They posed with the bad starter. It is not one of my rebuilds from earlier this year. My ‘24 fouled its spark plugs so I installed a new set. My car was parked near the new outfitter’s tent so I grabbed a business card and plan on visiting their website.
And finally, my educated daughter didn’t read the safety list I placed on her dashboard and she discharged the battery on my ‘31. I was able to start the car with a vintage 2012 Optima battery my son had thrown in his car.
As far as things gone right, my son and Bob Jr. did the Lansing to Dearborn run in his ‘12 Touring and they raved about the scenery and the great time. Bob’s wife is a European lady who now believes we Michiganians know how to have a good time. They are trying to convince me to drive along with my car next year.
My grandkids want me to buy a fire truck after riding around in Marty Bufalini’s.
My grandson laid claim to “his Runabout “.
