I am missing the portion of the hood former on my SR that goes from the steering column across the top of hood then down the left side. I do have the small piece that goes from the steering column vertically down the right side. I haven't been able to find one so my question is if I fabricate one is the hood dimensionally the same on both ends so I can use the radiator as a pattern? The hood is flimsy enough that accurate measurements of it are difficult.
thanks Jim

Re: SR hood former
I don't believe the radiator would be a good template for you. Do you have the hood? If so, I would use that as your template instead.

Re: SR hood former
Ford’s nomenclature for the Model NRS hood former was “Hood Support On Dash”. As you have indicated, there are two parts to the Hood Support. The factory part numbers for these pieces are N-975 Hood Support (On Dash) and N-1028 Hood Support Section (On Dash). You can obtain scanned copies of the original factory parts drawings for N-975 and N-1028 from the Benson Ford Research Center at The Henry Ford. You can order copies of these parts drawings by going to the Henry Ford’s web site/ Research and Collections/ Services/ Remote Research Services/ Part Drawing Order Form.

Re: SR hood former
Thank you, Jerry and Trent. l will order the drawings. Much better than trying to match to my hood or radiator. Thant way I can make sure the hood has proper bends. Thanks again.
