Progress on rear Axle

Post by John Illinois » Tue Jan 28, 2020 11:22 am

Thanks to forum members advice,I successfully removed and installed the rear axle shaft gears. I set up the press with a Model A hub to support the axle. I took the drum off,but then used it for more support.
The axles were both slightly oversize and I polished the gear area to size in my lathe.
I froze the new axles and warmed the gears. They went on with a good press fitting.

John

outstanding news!
I am glad that advice recieved from forum was helpful...and if you found you needed to tweek the axles, then indeed it was worth the effort to solicit the advice.
