1913-1920 Running Boards
Not a whole lot of information on these. Here is what I have observed. It is possible several different manufactures could have been making these for Ford at the same time. The most obvious thing is the size of the Ford script, which from my observations remained the same through 1916 and possibly 1917. The "F" is much taller than later versions. The left and rights were the same in 1913 and 1914. The generator holes were dropped early in 1915. All fender to running board holes were 1/4" until 1920, at which time they dropped the wood blocks and used a thick steel spacer and a 5/16" carriage bolt.. The general size of the Ford script changed at least three times from 1913 - 1920. When those changes occurred is not known. If you see a running board for sale anywhere, that states 1913-1925, that is not correct. The fender to running board bolts, front and rear went from 1/4" to 5/16" in 1920, and as mentioned use a thick steel spacer, (washer). For the 1925 model year, those spacers were eliminated, and they were stamped into the fenders, front and rear. The only thing about the Ford script from 1913-25 is the direction of it. Randall Anderson makes the correct bolt sets for all running boards from 1909-1925.
