1925 Pickup Production Question

Post by 20touring » Fri Nov 19, 2021 9:17 am

What was the earliest date orders were being taken by Ford for the 1925 Pickup and when did production begin?

When you find out, let us all know! It is my understanding Ford kept no records on the pickup alone, since it was mounted on a roadster chassis.
To my knowledge, the first ones were offered in March 1925. Steve Coniffs car has a stencil on the frame 'For Pickup', most likely meaning it was to get a 9 leaf spring, and no turtle deck? Production only lasted for one month because of a tax issue, and after that all pickup boxes were dealer installed.

Thank You for the information.
Does this mean the boxes were installed on existing roadsters by the dealer or do you think the cars ordered that were destined for a pickup box were shipped to the dealer minus the turtle deck and with the 9 leaf rear spring installed?

Here is a picture of my 25 roadster pick up that was taken at the July 4th 1925 parade in Melling WI.

Scott: Why not post a photo of your '25 pickup as it appears now?

There’s a good idea!
I am wondering how many people have a photo of their T when it was new or almost new-it has to be a rare thing!

Here is a more recent picture, from back in the summer, hauling recycles to the bin.
