Standard vs High Volume Intake Manifold Differences

Post by Don D » Sat Apr 23, 2022 5:28 pm

I know many intake manifolds are iron and marked with the Ford name, some are aluminum but how do you tell the difference between a standard intake manifold and a high-volume manifold?

Thanks in advance,

Dom

The larger diameter of the intake flange where the carburetor attaches as well as the greater internal volume of the aluminum intake manifolds is termed ‘high volume’ - as compared to the more numerous cast iron intakes.

Scroll down to Sat. Sept 17 in the thread below .
Terry Woods shows details of that one year only high volume iron Ford intake.

BTY, saw one purchased at Chickasha, was among others in a pile, but keen eyes picked it up!
